Tour Programme

Friday - Depart central London in the morning for visit the RAF Museum at Hendon including one of the finest collections of World War II German aircraft. We visit the US Military Cemetery at Madingley where over 3500 are buried and a further 5125 are remembered on the “Wall of the Missing”.  Dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation.
Saturday - USAAF Day– Today we visit three of those old airfields and the nostalgic villages around them with their well-known names and endless memorials to the men who were based here. Visit airfields with museums and Control Towers with exhibits and memorabilia from private collections, including uniforms, photographs, medals and personal documents. Local villagers give us personal tours around the remnants of the airfields and their own villages. Stop for a traditional pub-lunch. We visit the Norwich Memorial Library and the Shrine Area, which is an official War Memorial. Dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation.
Sunday - Airshow Day – After breakfast we drive to the Duxford Imperial War Museum, boasting one of the most spectacular aviation collections in the world. With the thousands of other visitors we will enjoy the Airshow by some of the legendary aircraft in US and Bristish history. Built during World War I, Duxford aerodrome was one of the earliest RAF stations. Taken over by USAAF in April 1943 the airfield became Base 357 and the HQ of the 78th Fighter Group. Visit the American Air Museum, The Normandy Experience, Battle of Britain Exhibition and the original Operations Room.
